The latest extension in Databorough’s suite of tools. X-Migrate builds on the extracted X-Analysis business rules & largely automates breaking up of the monolithic code into a set of business rule routines which can be called as stored procedures from the View Controller layer of a new application. Further processing converts the existing screens into proto-type JSF/Javabean combinations which provide a View layer over the legacy application. The JSFs & javabeans can then be enhanced using the Rational or Eclipse toolsets, or new functionality can be specified using tools such as Rational Software Modeller. X-Migrate also generates functional specifications for each interactive transaction, together with UML Activity Diagrams and Use Case Diagrams that provide an analysts view of the application. The combination of design artefacts produced by X-Migrate provide a platform from which top down design can proceed efficiently.
