X-Analysis: For Instant AS/400 Application Documentation

“The best way on the planet to produce complete and accurate legacy AS/400 documentation.”

With dissipating application knowledge, a draining pool of RPG developers, and demands for auditability, accountability, interfacing, enhancement and so on, how can AS/400 IT managers achieve these critical tasks:

  • Secure their application knowledge
  • Share application knowledge
  • Manage and audit software projects
  • Train and educate new developers
  • Measure the impact of change

How It Works

X-Analysis works by analyzing your application objects and source code and producing an in-depth repository.

This repository is then used to view the application analytics interactively from a standalone GUI client, or as an RDi plugin.

The repository can also be used to produce hardcopy documentation in the form of Word documents, pdf files or Excel spreadsheets.

Additional functionality enables you to produce converted source code or specifications in the form of UML, SQL, MVC-architected RPG, Java and .Net.

The Importance of Application Areas

X-Analysis also enables you to subdivide your application into “application areas” by specifying object relationship rules. These can be business oriented subdivisions, for the purpose of isolating functionality, or they can be project oriented subdivisions, for the purpose of analyzing and managing objects related to particular projects.
