Their problem became pressing in 1995 simply because many of their contracts were for five years and they would be experiencing "millennium" problems the following year as a result. DoubledayDoubleday operates book and music clubs with well over 500,000 members in Australia and New Zealand. It is a subsidiary of Bertelsmann AG, a German media group with interests in book clubs, publishing, music, printing, film, television and radio. Doubleday embarked on a number of challenges. Firstly to transport all of its COBOL applications on the current Prime system to an IBM AS/400, and secondly to rewrite and enhance the current system using a CASE tool. ScolaScola is the French subsidiary of DANFOSS GROUP and has gained worldwide recognition as a leading supplier of taps, valves and other fittings necessary to the control of moving fluids. The whole of Scola's production is based on Chalon sur Saone and Crissey in Burgundy and it is distributed through a worldwide network of subsidiaries and distributors - nearly 70% of the 200 MF turnover is exported out of France. Scola employs 200 people in the world, of which 140 work in Chalon and Crissey. Scola chose X-Analysis to help them maintain legacy software and to provide them with tools for managing new systems development. Atlas CopcoAtlas Copco is a Swedish company that specializes in manufacturing compressors, power tools and construction and mining tools. Because their applications are installed in over 60 Atlas Copco companies worldwide - each of which has its own local applications and interfaces - sufficient time was needed to roll out the updated apps to each sales office, which would then require time to apply local changes to their core systems. Clearly, Atlas Copco's core millennium compliancy was needed in a hurry. For several years, Atlas Copco had been relying on Datasolve Systems International, in Kent, England, to assist in the support and development of its BPCS system.
