This solution set extends Design Recovery. Legacy DDS to SQL database conversion is totally automated in this solution set. Stateless Service programs are also built over the entire modernized database. Each converted table has a CRUD type stateless service program created over it. It then builds on the extracted business rules & largely automates breaking up of the monolithic code into a set of business rule routines which can be called as stored procedures from the View Controller layer of a new application. Further processing converts the existing screens into proto-type JSF/Javabean combinations which provide a View layer over the legacy application. The JSFs & javabeans can then be enhanced using the Rational or Eclipse toolsets, or new functionality can be specified using tools such as Rational Software Modeller.
